Each tool generated additional index, subchannel or cue-sheet files, but all data remained in a single file. Settings: Sub-channel: full sub-codes (raw mode), output track format: 2448, everything else defaultĬomments: Absolutely horrible GUI! Settings are many and undocumented.Īll tools except for PerfectRip generates a single file for all the disc data. Settings: Profile: Data CD, Create "Cue-Sheet"Ĭomments: In the settings I've set it to create CCD, CUE and MDS image layout files. Settings: Skip reading errors, Fast skip error blocks, Advanced Sector Scanning, Read Sub-Channel Data.Ĭomments: This version comes without the virtual drive support, it's only for disc dumping. (custom redist made by jagotu, based on the Free Edition of Alcohol120%) Supported formats: mdx, mds, iso (not supported with multisession discs) Unwanted extras: wajam (opt-out), Istartsurf (opt-out) All settings were unchecked except for the ones specified below.
All dumps were made at maximum supported reading speed (40x). All supported formats in each tool was used to dump the disc so I can compare the size, contents and files generated by each dump session. The CD-ROM title I chose to use is "Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure", a MS-DOS title which contains both a data track as well as audio tracks. I've underlined the supported image formats BA requires for a proper dump. Unfortunately the official Alcohol120% installer doesn't offer any opt-out of Smart File Advisor, a complaint that is also public at their forums.Īll tools were tested on Windows 8.1 Professional, 64bit Edition using an external USB2 connected DVD Burner (TSScorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M).
DAEMON TOOLS LITE ERROR 3 INSTALL
Opt-out here means that you must actively decline the offer to install the extras. I know this testbed isn't the most scientifically best way to test these softwares, but I wanted to get an overview of what formats and results these titles support and ge We have a portable lite version made that comes without it, but lacks the emulation features, so if you use the portable version you need to use Daemon Tools etc to virtually mount the image if you want to use it. At the time being we do prefer Alcohol120% but I do understand the issues with it (as the official release comes with Smart File Advisor which should be treated as adware. Interestingly, the new controller is a different one (different name, at least) from the one I had before.I've been testing various tools to image discs properly and come to different results. The installation took quite some time "updating the drivers". Then, uninstalling and reinstalling DT Lite inserted an operational controller there.
DAEMON TOOLS LITE ERROR 3 UPDATE
Update requests could not solve this (driver not found), but assuming it was a remaining thing of the defective DT Lite, I completely removed it.
DAEMON TOOLS LITE ERROR 3 DRIVER
While still having the error, SCSI and RAID controllers contained one driver only already marked by xp with a yellow exclamation mark. With me, it was not exactly like this, but it pointed me into the right direction: Right Click on ANNxxxxx IDE controller and select Update Driver.Look for SCSI and RAID controllers - It will already be expanded and there will be a cross on its icon (not visible in image) which indicates that its not functioning. This is what The GeekWay (now relocated) advised:
